Dubai International Comedy Carnival
As part of Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubomedy is holding music and dance contests from Tuesday 22. Register by Thursday 17 for the Comedy Movie competition, in which participants have three days to write and shoot a short film. Email for details. Dubai Outlet Mall’s International Kite Festival
On Friday January 18, watch as international kite teams raise weird and wonderful shapes into the sky. There will also be the chance for guests to fly their own kites, and for kids to take part in kite-making workshops. As well as all the action in the air, there will be a souk and craft bazaar, drumming, food stalls and much more.
