From Textile to Texture
French fashion institute Esmod Dubai is hosting an exhibition of contemporary textile creations by French designer Alain Germain, who’s renowned for his work as a theatre and stage director. The displays explore the art of fabric manipulation.

Samsung Canvas: Collective
This unique design project aims to discover talented artists in the region, giving them a platform to showcase their skills. Using the Samsung Galaxy Note product range, artists will be tasked with creating T-shirt designs to support UAE-based charity Social Bandage. Those interested are invited to submit their designs either on the website below, or at Samsung’s stands at The Dubai Mall and Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Tiffany & Co vintage showcase
Want to earn major points on Valentine’s Day with a killer gift or surprise outing? Check out the special collection of Tiffany & Co vintage watches on display until the end of the month. The items include art deco designs from the ’20s and delicate, intricate watches from the ’40s, though they don’t come cheap.

Bebe extended sale
This US party label is extending its DSF sales on autumn/winter stock until Monday February 18. Head here to get up to 70 percent off a selection of pieces, including workwear, casual clothes and the brand’s popular partywear. Items on sale include body-con dresses and statement necklaces.

Iconic spring/summer 2013 collection
The new unisex range from youth department store Iconic proves that retro is back with a vengeance for spring. Pastels are still big news, as are florals and electric hues such as orange and yellow. For women you’ll find A-line dresses, full-circle skirts, kimono jackets and box-pleat shorts. Meanwhile, nautical is also here to stay for gents. Wear it with a splash of bold colour, such as tangerine or electric blue, and Iconic’s rope belt to update the look, or pop on a relaxed blazer.

Chinese New Year at Mall of the Emirates
Get cultural and head to this Barsha mall to see Chinese-inspired entertainment. Events include Chinese folk dance from 3pm, a drum show and calligraphy from 5pm, face-changing and Tai-ji boxing from 7pm, and Chinese kung fu and traditional musical instruments from 9pm.

Ladies’ morning at Mirdif City Centre
