Vintage designer shades, a glamour line for West LA Boutique and luxury home fragrances

The demand for vintage clothing and accessories continues to grow in this city thanks to the current retro revival. Dubaians can now pick up authentic vintage shades from designers such as Dior, Chloé, YSL and Alain Mikli, some of which date back as far as the ’30s. Zaveri Privé (052 834 9999) on Al Wasl Road is by appointment only (the process involves a consultation with a stylist to see which frames suit the face best) and prices range from Dhs1,600 to Dhs91,825.

Need a special-occasion dress but don’t know where to start? Head to homegrown hangout West LA Boutique (04 394 4248), which will launch its West LA Couture collection (pictured) in early April. Designed by founder Alia Korayaem, the items combine old Hollywood glamour and the modern aesthetic of the hipster boutique. Only four sizes of each piece will be made, manufactured by companies associated with the world’s top luxury brands, including Chanel and Givenchy. Prices start at Dhs3,000.

Finally, with summer set to send us indoors soon, you’ll want to make sure your hibernation zone is kept fresh. Florence-based home fragrances brand Dr Vranjes Firenze is now available at Bloomingdale’s (04 350 5333), and the man himself was recently in Dubai to mark the occasion
