Take an interior design course in Dubai

This week: short courses on interior design and Aiisha Ramadan in Paris.

Want Philippe Starck’s job? Your chance to start learning the ins and outs of interior and furniture design has just landed at your feet. London’s prestigious Chelsea College of Art & Design (chelsea.arts.ac.uk/shortcourses/middle-east) is holding short courses in Dubai this month, giving fashionites the chance to develop skills and practical knowledge from the experts first hand. Courses run from Friday May 17 to Monday May 27 and include The Principles of Interior Design, Lighting Design for Interiors and How to Decorate Your Villa or Apartment.

Meanwhile, those of you dying to suss out S*uce’s latest concept store S*uce in the Hood will have to sit tight for a couple more months. The opening of new luxury Safa Street retail development The Avenue in Satwa has been put on the backburner, with the opening now set for sometime in July. Head to benoy.com to see what shopping fun is in store for the area.

Lastly, Dubai-based Lebanese fashion designer Aiisha Ramadan (aiisha.com) has been chosen to represent the Middle East in an exclusive fashion show hosted by Vietnamese-born model and entrepreneur Jessica Minh Anh’s J Spring Fashion Show on the River Seine in Paris on Thursday May 30. Earlier this year, the model organised the world’s first sundeck catwalk show on the luxurious Costa Atlantica in our fine city.
