A top jeweller, perfumer, and Bollywood designer in Dubai

Spotted out and about on the fashion circuit last week was Brazilian jewellery Ronaldo Stern, managing director of luxury Rio de Janeiro-based international jewellers H.Stern. The jewellery label’s head honcho made a special appearance at Meydan Beach Club to attend the Harvey Nichol’s Dubai (04 409 8888) launch of the label’s newest collection, ‘Iris’.

Meanwhile, seen at the Ritz Carlton DIFC (04 372 2222) last week was young Indian designer to the stars Kunal Rawal. Rawal launched his label in 2006 and has now become a favourite of Bollywood royalty, including John Abraham and Anil Kapoor (Shootout at Wadala), Akshay Kumar (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2) and Shahid Kapoor (Rambo Rajkumar). His pieces were being featured in the SA Vogue fashion exhibition.

Lastly, classically trained San Francisco-based perfumer Ineke Ruhland was in Dubai last week for the Middle East launch of her latest fragrance ‘Hothouse Flower’. Just ten people were invited to the special event (including us!), which featured a 30-minute masterclass on the creation process. The perfume is available at retailers including Bloomingdale’s (04 350 5333).
