Vintage cake stands, blogging and Isabel Marant

Want to inject some retro glamour into your home? Jumeirah Centre’s quirky home and gift store Harvest Home (04 342 0225) is currently stocking vintage hand-drilled china cake stands from the ’30s. The three-tier plates make ideal cupcake servers, but if you want to use them year-round, hang your jewellery off them. The store now has a regular stall at Ripe markets in Al Quoz.

Meanwhile, come November the fashion pack will be able to get their hands on an autumn fashion tie-up between H&M (4 330 8327) and Parisian couturier Isabel Marant. The pieces will include fashion and accessories inspired by her signature style and will be available from November 14. Good news for sartorially savvy gents – the collaboration includes a debut collection for men, a first for the designer.

Lastly, one half of the popular UK blog Five Five Fabulous (www.fivefivefabulous.com), Natalya Kanj, is moving to Dubai this month to start blogging full-time about the lifestyle and fashion scene in our emirate. The blogging sisters, both graduates of London College of Fashion, have been based between London and Dubai, but this permanent move by Natalya means that much of the content will now be Dubai-focused. We’re keen to see what piques their interest. Until next week, happy shopping!
