News from My Ex Wardrobe and a celeb in a local label

This week: two new labels, News from My Ex Wardrobe and a celeb in a local label.

Following their debut at Singapore Audi Fashion Week a few months ago, two new locally designed fashion labels are now available in Dubai. Created by local resident Sacha Plumbridge, the spring/summer 2013 Aurora Wild and GisellaBlu (04 253 0703) collections feature interesting lines, structuring and unique footwear. Both labels are available in Dubai via a home-shopping service, where the minimum spend is Dhs500.

Meanwhile, pop-up store aficionado My Ex Wardrobe (www.myexwardrobe.com) has just launched a new website and exclusive members’ community, aiming to bring together like-minded people to buy and sell their pre-loved fashion. Members can post items they would like to sell and will get exclusive offers and discounts with My Ex Wardrobe’s partner companies. There are four paid membership tiers.

Lastly, LA fashion and beauty icon and star of former US reality series The Hills, Lauren Conrad, was recently spotted wearing a dress by homegrown label Zayan. The star chose the lace and tulle dress for a recent book launch, and paired it with a retro-inspired up-do. Zayan is the brainchild of Zayan Ghandour, the creative director of ground-breaking Dubai concept store S*uce (04 339 9696). Until next time, happy shopping!
