A hipster ladies’ night, a new VOX cinema and bespoke slippers

This week: A hipster ladies’ night, a new VOX cinema and bespoke slippers.

Souk Al Bahar’s chic new Japanese venue Kanpai (04 441 9262) has launched a ladies’ night on Tuesdays with a fashionable twist. Having teamed up with hipster store West LA Boutique (04 394 4248), those in attendance receive a voucher for 25 percent off at the store, a chance to win a free pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, a complimentary drink plus two for one drinks all night. Table reservations also get to enjoy a free sushi platter.

Meanwhile, Bur Dubai is set to get its largest cinema next year with plans to open a 14-screen VOX Cinemas (www.voxcinemas.com) complex at the BurJuman (04 352 0222). The set-up will include VIP seats, a full restaurant-style gourmet menu and offer mega-screen VOX MAX and VOX Plus experiences for premium level entertainment.

Lastly, posh shoe haunt The Cobbler (04 501 6920) has introduced a customisation service, allowing shoppers to design and order a bespoke pair of slippers from anywhere in the world. The range, entitled ‘Dandy by The Cobbler’ is launching alongside an iPad app to streamline the process. First find your style, add unique details and finally personalise them with embroidery. Delivery takes up to two months for just Dhs1,490.
