Madiyah Al Sharqi
Sheikha Madiyah Al Sharqi is the daughter of the Ruler of Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi. Sheikha Madiyah launched her own label after graduating from French fashion university Esmod and interning for Lebanese designer Abed Mahfouz. The Dubai-based designer’s style is described as effortless evening wear with a modern edge, and her designs have been selling out at many GCC retailers, gaining her attention from further afield.

Hatem Alakeel
Saudi designer Alakeel’s mission to ‘bring Saville Row to the thobe’ with his label Toby has gained him the attention of style-savvy men from far and wide. The Dubai-based creative’s inspiration for fusing western designs with traditional Middle Eastern wear came about when he realised he felt limited in wearing the same style thobe to work every day.

Velsvoir
Zac, Zubair and Talha Timol, a dapper trio otherwise known as the bow tie brothers, are riding on a high having recently showcased their collection at London Fashion Week. Since launching in early 2012, they now have a presence in both Dubai and London, though their designs have been spotted on men and women in locations around the world.

Nawaf Al Janahi: The director and actor who was born in Abu Dhabi has a number of movies which have garnered Emirati film-making international recognition. His 2006 short film Mirrors of Silence was screened in more than 20 international film festivals across the world and received widespread political acclaim. It was filmed all over the UAE.
