This week: Vintage furniture, Sole DXB, and Longchamp collection revealed.

The demand for old is starting to override new in Dubai, with the launch of a second ‘reclaimed’ vintage furniture business, Resurrected (050 188 9505). American owner Alexandra Igleheart stocks her store with pieces found in estate sales and flea markets in the US, many hailing from the Hollywood Hills and Palisades. As well as the low-riding, masculine cigar chair, you’ll find mid-century mosaic side tables and vintage movie posters. Prices are comparatively decent as well.

Meanwhile, sneaker and street culture enthusiasts should pencil Sole DXB (www.soledxb.com), pictured, into their diaries. The two-day urban lifestyle fair displaying the latest trends in footwear, apparel, hip-hop and street art kicks off on Friday November 14 and takes place in Dubai Design District. Lastly, Sophie Delafontaine, artistic director of luxury French leather goods brand Longchamp (04 354 9539), is visiting Dubai for the first time this week to reveal the label’s spring/summer 2015 collection. What bag does she carry? See if you can spot her.
