British people rejoice, John Lewis is coming to Dubai.
The iconic department store, a mainstay of the British high street since its launch in 1864, will land in the Middle East for the first time next year, at Dubai Festival City Mall. It is set to be situated within another hugely popular store, Robinsons, from Singapore.
Spread across 15,000 square feet, it will be the brand's largest overseas outlet, and will feature own-label furniture, cookware, textiles, glassware, bed, bath, living and gifting goodies. It will essentially be the first port of call for all newbies setting up home in the UAE.
John Lewis is perhaps best known outside the UK for its iconic Christmas advert campaigns, which every year are looked forward to nearly as much as Coca Cola's offering.
The brand has 46 outlets across Britain and has developed from homeware retail to offering anything from insurance to wedding plans.
It first launched on the legendary Oxford Street in Central London 150 years ago. Al-Futtaim, who are behind the decision to launch in Dubai, also confirmed the brand will spring up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, soon.
