If you’re planning on making the most of the Dubai Shopping Festival this weekend (January 5-6), then read on.

Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, an agency of Dubai Tourism, have gathered together the best bits of the citywide shopping extravaganza for this weekend, and you’d be a fool to miss out on what’s on offer.

With everything from silk carpets to perfume making, there’s bound to be something up every shopper’s street, so have a scour below and thank us when you’re kitted out in all your new finery.

Create your own trainers at Robinsons
Indulge in your creative side and knock up some totally unique trainers embellished live by an in-store artist at Robinsons Department Store in Dubai Festival City. Sneaker lovers can buy a pair from the shoe department and then look on in wonder as they are given a creative twist.

Feel ‘Festive on the River’ at Riverland Dubai
If you want one more crack of the festive whip then venture down to Riverland for the final weekend of Festive on the River, featuring a pop-up ice rink, an outdoor cinema, festive décor and a European-style festive market.

Get your feet into some exotic carpets
We can show you the world – in terms of carpets anyway. This event at Dubai World Trade Centre is one of the world’s largest exhibitions of handwoven mats from all four corners of the globe. And if you’re not after a new rug you can have a browse of the large collection of antique souvenirs. Cheap as chips.

See some sights
You can make the most of the city’s landmarks and culture this weekend with a Dubai Shopping Festival Pass, which offers 65 percent off at more than 60 top attractions and restaurants across the city, including At The Top at the Burj Khalifa, IMG Worlds of Adventure and La Perle.

Spruce up with Bloomie’s Loves UAE
Beauty-lovers can pick up some shiny new bits and pieces for their makeup bags including a curated collection of locally-founded beauty brands across fragrance, skincare, tools and make-up.

Whip up a new fragrance
Waft your way to The Scents Factory at The Dubai Mall catwalk to explore the art of perfume making. As well as daily raffle prizes, there will also be top brands including Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent and Ralph Lauren.

Witness spectacular fireworks
The Shopping Festival calls for celebration! And we are happy to get involved in the party. There will be displays at The Beach, Al Seef and La Mer every weekend throughout January. Hoorah!
