Hello Kitty Run coming to Dubai

‘Winter Wonderland’-themed 5km fun run will kick off in Zabeel Park

Hello Kitty Run coming to Dubai

Love Hello Kitty (or have kids that do?) Now’s your chance to take part in a fun run to celebrate the famous character.

The 5km Hello Kitty Run 2018 will take place in December in Zabeel Park, so you’ll have plenty of time to get training.

The 5km fun run will have a “Winter Wonderland” theme, and will include family entertainment such as a “Fun Village”, live DJs, game stalls and, of course, specially-themed Hello Kitty events that will thrill fans.

The event will include a Hello Kitty Spa for those who need loosen up those muscles after the event, and a Hello Kitty Fashion Walk, for those who want to strut their stuff.

Of course, fans will also get the chance to meet the character along with her friends, to take that all important selfie.

The run will start at 9pm and finish at 1pm on Friday December 14, so there’s plenty of time to get limbered up ahead of the run.

Aching to get involved? Early bird tickets are now on sale for Dhs95 for the first 500 who register, so be sure to nab your spot fast at www.hkrundubai.com.

The Hello Kitty Run was first raced in Taiwan in November 2014 to mark the cute cartoon cat’s 40th birthday (she hasn’t aged a bit if you ask us). That day more than 25,000 runners flocked to take part.

Since that first edition, the race has gone from strength to strength and is now run across Asia with stagings held in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Hello Kitty’s native Japan.

This is the third running of the race in Dubai.

If running in pink isn’t your style, how about doing 5km in all the colours of a rainbow? The Color Run is returning to Dubai with its first hero tour, and it promises to be quite, well, colourful.

In the meantime, we’ll be getting camera ready for our selfie with our favourite feline character.
Dhs95 (early bird tickets), Dhs125 (adults), Dhs110 (aged 16 and under). Fri 14 Dec, 9am-1pm. Zabeel Park www.hkrundubai.com.
