Whisper it, but we’re beginning to move towards the end of summer, slowly but surely, and as we prepare for the mercury to start dropping down a little, we’re getting ready to hit the great outdoors for a bit of exercise.

Thankfully, there’s a brand-new football and cricket facility that’s launched in Dubai, and it’s got us all excited about sport again.

Ahdaaf (translating to “goals” from Arabic), has opened on the roof of Dragon Mart 2 next door to International City. It’s promising a 73,000 sq ft complex that will be open all day until midnight in the winter season, with floodlights helping to keep the facility open after dark.

There will be two seven-a-side astroturf football pitches, and two cricket batting nets so you can capitalise on the great weather.

“Ahdaaf is an exciting addition to this world-famous shopping and entertainment hub, and is sure to be a winner with residents and businesses in the surrounding communities and beyond,” said Omar Khoory, Managing Director at Nakheel Malls.

If you’re a fan of working out in the great outdoors, check out the return of Tough Mudder, which is back in Dubai in November.
Open 5pm-midnight (summer), 7am-midnight (winter). Dragon Mart 2, Dubai International City, www.ahdaaf.ae (04 347 7666).
