Fidelity Fitness
Not only does this JLT club have a wide range of classes to suit everyone’s needs but it also has some top-notch equipment. The choice of group classes is impressive and although the various Les Mills options are at the fore, you can also sign up for yoga, spin, Pilates, legs, bums and tums, Zumba, abs blaster and metafit sessions. If you’re not keen on working out with your fellow members then Fidelity has lots to offer the solo trainer.

Fit Boys Gym
Despite its name, the gym is open to girls, too. Fit Boys Gym is a dedicated boxing and martial arts centre with a crew of professional boxers to help you get fighting fit. You don’t have to be competing to train here, but there is a full-size ring and plenty of equipment to ensure you develop your boxing technique.

Fitness Zone
Its logo is a hand wielding a thunderbolt, so it must be good. This warehouse-looking gym recently installed a brand-new freestyle CrossFit area, consisting of rigs, racks, gymnastic rings and a squat stand – as well as its indoor studio for a range of classes. If you want a serious workout, look no further.

Milan Pole Dance Studio
It’s literally fitness classes based around poles. Pole Gym sessions focus on technical movements and offer the added advantages of strength training – its slogan is “the world is beautiful upside-down”. All classes are 60 minutes in length and follow a weekly schedule. Definitely an alternative workout that’s well worth checking out.

Pilates Academy Dubai
Pilates is seriously hard work and down at Pilates Academy they want you to get the most out of your work out. They also offer Cardiolates, barre and silk suspension classes.

Power Cycle
Hailing from Brazil, Power Cycle is powered by a top team who’ve been flown over from Brazil to coach Dubai dwellers with a bit of Brazilian flair and a community feel. You’ll start off by getting a fitness test (which promises to not be as scary as it sounds, gulp) and then your watts and power are tracked each session so you can see how you improve class by class. Forget going on holiday – the classes are interactive with your very own avatar on your screen showing you cycle through the tracks of Brazil or Greece. The studio also offers TACFIT – which is also known as ‘the world’s smartest workout’ and is designed to work out each muscle with a system of 26 workouts.

Real Pilates
If you want to try out Pilates, this is a great place to start. With professional teaching and a range of classes from mat to reformer and more, there’s sure to be something to suit. The 1762 under-neath is a great place to refuel, too.

RESET Fitness
This boutique fitness facility offers a unique way to working out. With television guided group train-ing systems around the gym, all you have to do is follow the directives on the TVs as you work around the studio space. Interesting.

Step inside the ring or take on an enormous punch bag at this gym, which offers coaching in boxing, kick boxing, karate, Muay Thai, self-defence, jujitsu and general fitness. As well as toning up, classes here can help you improve your cardiovascular fitness.

Vogue Fitness
As any crossfitter will tell you, this regime is less a workout and more a way of life. This box (the CrossFit term for a gym) was one of the first exercise spots to open in the neighbourhood and has garnered members from far and wide. The owners are CrossFit devotees themselves and have competed in international games. They offer a huge range of fitness programs ranging from Cross-Fit and conditioning and offer classes including StrongFit, Olympic weightlifting, spinning and gym-nastics.
