Dubai Fitness Challenge is returning for another year

Dubai – get ready to get moving as the city’s biggest fitness festival is making its grand return in October.

For those that don’t know, the Dubai Fitness Challenge encourages Dubai residents to do at least 30 minutes of exercise, every day for 30 days. Whether it's Pilates or HIIT.

The initiative was launched in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government, with the aim of making Dubai the most active city in the world.

Nearly one million people got involved last year, and 2019 promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Think you’re up to the challenge? It all kicks off on Friday October 18 and will run right through until Saturday November 16 with thousands (yes, literally thousands) of free fitness events taking place across the city and this year’s edition includes Dubai’s first-ever City Half Marathon.

The marathon is taking place on Friday October 25 at Dubai International Financial District and runners can take on either 2.5km, 5km, 10km or 21km distances. Click here to register and get those running shoes out and start training.

Think you can take on a 300km marathon? The longest desert race in the world is happening in December with the prize being $100,000.
