Double session features spinning, HIIT training and more this weekend

Dubai charity fitness session to raise funds for Australian bushfires

Australia Day is just around the corner, on Sunday January 26, and all eyes are currently on the land down under in the midst of a climate emergency.

To raise funds for tackling the bushfires currently ongoing across Australia, one of Dubai Marina’s top gyms is preparing to launch a one-off charity fundraiser event that’s going to get you working up a sweat.

NRG Fitness in Dubai Marina Promenade will be raising money for The Red Cross with a special double class on Saturday January 25. Costing Dhs50 per person, with NRG matching each booking fee with a Dhs50 donation of their own, you can take part in a one-hour spin and high intensity interval training double class.

What to expect? A 30-minute ride on some of the top indoor cycling bikes in Dubai, with performance stats showed in real-time through a digital peloton, followed by a 30-minute HIIT class in at the gym’s recently renovated indoor studio.

There’s limited capacity for the session, with a maximum of 40 people able to take part, so book through the NRG app or by calling 050 652 7722 to make sure you don’t miss out.

There will also be snacks after the class and a raffle featuring prizes from local businesses who are also supporting the event.

Get fit and support a great cause at the same time, win-win.

If you’re after something a bit different this year, here are seven alternative workouts to try in the UAE in 2020.
Dhs50. Sat Jan 25, 10.45am. Dubai Marina Promenade (050 652 7722).
