Dubai's Hatta to host major half-marathon run

Right about now, if you’re anything like us there’s a good chance you ditched the January health kick and those hours spent on the treadmill are nothing but a distant memory.

But it’s time to dust off those trainers and hit the great outdoors because one of the most scenic fitness events is coming to town next month.

Taking place on Friday March 6, head to Hatta for the Hatta Hills Run, a half-marathon taking place through the emirate’s mountainous landscape, and by its famous dam.

If you’re ready to take on the whole challenge there is, of course, the 21.1km half-marathon option, but if you’re not quite ready to take it too seriously, there are other shorter options available.

Instead of the full whack, you can take on the 10km or 5km routes that will take you through 'tree-lined villages' all the way up to Hatta Dam and its waters (which, by the way, is one of the world’s most Instagrammed spots).

Finally, there’s also the 2.5km route for runners who fancy a taking on a specially designed cross-country course in the JA Hatta Fort Hotel.

And that’s where the whole race starts.

With so many options for running, there are a load of price options too.

Full half-marathon: Dhs225 per person
Adult 10km: Dhs200
Adult 5km and 2.5km: Dhs175
Under 19 10km: Dhs175
Under 19 5km and 2.5km: Dhs125

Time to get running.
Prices vary. Fri Mar 6, 6am onwards. JA Hatta Fort Hotel, Hatta,
