51 Gym Dubai, Al Wasl 51
This stylish new gym is the brainchild of local track and field celebrity Michael Oyac. There aren’t many people this new space doesn’t cater for: state-of-the-art fitness equipment for the cardio-lover, weightlifting stations for the gym fiend, boxing, TRX and HIIT for the group workout fans, yoga, pilates and Reformer equipment for the mobility and mindfulness seekers. At the heart of the gym is a state-of-the-art immersive 4D cycling studio, which is kind of the jewel in the crown of this place. Expect real routes with all the hill climbs included and experience the thrill of outdoor riding with a 4D immersive feel that includes cold, warm, wind and water sensations… all from the safety of the indoors.

Fitness First, The Palm
If you’re looking for wow-factor and then some, this high-tech, next-level gym is where you need to be doing your squats. Whether your preference is going it alone on the weights machines or getting stuck into a variety of classes, this gym ticks all the workout boxes. The 1,652 sq m club hosts five brand new Fitness First concepts: KUBE, BOX, SPIN, Hot Studio and GX Studio - covering a variety of HIIT, boxing and circuits-based classes. KUBE is a particular highlight: a full-on cardio and weights circuit in a cube-shaped studio created purely through clever lighting, add to that your own playlist, played through headphones to bring a silent disco vibe to your training. The gym also has a ladies-only workout area and 3D body scanners to track your progress. Following on the success of the Palm branch in Nakheel Mall, Fitness First has announced the opening of a further three gyms in Dubai, with the first one being at Marina Gate this April.

KO8 Fitness, The Marina
We’ve seen the KO8 suspension training kit popping up in gyms and workout classes all over Dubai, but get ready for a fitness studio dedicated solely to the nifty piece of training equipment. Currently in a soft launch period and offering free classes and great deals, the barefoot boutique in Dubai Marina has five unique class concepts that all incorporate the KO8 functional training equipment. Workouts called KETTLEBELLS, KOMBAT, KLARITY, KOMPLETE and BEATBOX will provide a hybrid of KO8 training with Muay Thai fight moves, yoga, core specific exercises and even dance depending on which class you opt for. Get ready to sweat it out with some of Dubai’s friendliest trainers and opt for a KLARITY class straight after to stretch those body and brain muscles with some mobility, meditation, breath-work and yoga flow style moves.

The Platform Studios DIFC
We love the Dubai Marina studio but Downtown dwellers this new DIFC branch has been a welcome arrival. The 10,000 sq ft space is the biggest exercise studio concept in the UAE, and home to classes including Mind & Body, Cycle, HIIT, Pilates, Boxing and The Platform Studios 30x30 class – a ‘Mix it Up’ workout that lets you take two 30-minute classes back-to-back (if you’re brave/fit enough, that it). Get your dose of spin, burpees, stretching of the mind and body in one place – with a side of tech in the form of the cryotherapy treatment room, live DJ facilities, fingerprint scan check-ins and in-app class bookings.

Warehouse Gym, DIFC and Al Khawaneej
Dubai’s coolest gym brand is weeks away from opening two new branches and they’re going to be even bigger and better than the current offering. The Al Khawaneej branch will open mid-April and will be the largest of the brand’s gyms to date, with a completely open floor plan and will be the first Warehouse Gym to have a swimming pool. It will also be home to the brand’s second women’s only private gym and comes with a kids’ gym area. Class favourites include Black Box, Circuits, CrossFit, Yoga, GRIT and Warehouse’s latest addition FlyWheel. Most exciting is the inclusion of a super impressive rig that’s been designed and constructed in the US and is nothing like anything currently in a UAE gym.

Yoga house
One of the newest additions to the city’s yoga scene is this studio in Dubai Marina. The chain already has locations in The Greens and Hilton Al Habtoor City, and this new spot offers similar classes including hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa and candlelight sessions at its home in InterContinental Dubai Marina.
