Previously known as We Run DXB and taking place in Downtown Dubai, next year's event will simply be called Dubai 10k, with specific details to come soon.
The initial event attracted some 6,000 participants in 2014, with a start and finish on the iconic Boulevard in front of Burj Khalifa. That number doubled in 2015, with some 13,000 expected to take up the third challenge.
Despite the route and all other specifics being kept close to Nike's chest, registration is open with a flood of entrants expected in the coming days.
Organisers made the announcement at the same time as confirming the relaunch of the Nike+ Run Club (NRC), which will once again hold free running sessions across both Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the cooler months.
