With Dubai Fitness Challenge at its mid-point, we're looking for some new exercises to try out in our 30-minute daily workouts.
Luckily, two of Dubai's top personal trainers have shown us how to keep fit across the city in some fun new ways.
NRG Fitness founder Mohab Samak, who himself shed 30kg in just five months, headed out with co-founder and coach Christina Guastella to reveal their top tips.
The exercises are easy for everyone to do, and you can work them into your routine whether it's at home or at the beach.
The workout includes squats, jumping jacks, side planks and plank to push-up – with each performed for 60 seconds with 20 seconds rest inbetween.
After repeating each three times, then rest for 60 seconds before moving onto round two.
That includes 45 seconds each of side lunges, sit-ups, high knee runs and push up walk outs with 15 seconds of rest in between.
Then rest for another minute and move onto round three, which features lunges, plank jacks, burpees and the triceps push up.
You'll want to perform each exercise for 30 seconds with 10 seconds rest inbetween, repeated three times.
The "super set" focuses on core exercise, cardio exercise, upper body exercise and lower body exercise for a fully balanced and effective routine.
From Friday October 26 until Saturday November 24, you can take part in thousands (yes, literally thousands) of free fitness events taking place across the city as part of Dubai Fitness Challenge.
In fact there are more than 4,000 different classes and events that you can access – but it’s not just about free events, there are also loads of promotions and offers on specific gyms and even healthy takeaway and sports gear.
The initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government, intends to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
Last year was massive, and this year it’s promised to be even bigger and better – with a full 30 days of activities across the city.
Participants can track their performance on the Dubai Fitness App and help make Dubai “the most active, healthiest, happiest, smartest city on the planet”.
The event last year encouraged 786,000 citizens and residents of all ages and fitness levels to commit to 30 consecutive minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days.
This year, as Dubai continues its mission to be the most active city in the world, the goal is for more one million participants to take part.
It doesn’t matter about your age, skills or fitness, everyone is encouraged to join in and try something new.
Don't forget to download the Dubai Fitness App to find workouts happening all over the city.
