US Olympic champion’s fitness centre officially opens in Dubai

Fancy training like an Olympian? Well now you can, as the region’s first sports performance training and fitness centre has officially opened its doors.

Led by the famed US gold medal-winning sprinter Michael Johnson, the Michael Johnson Performance Dubai (MJP) has set up a state-of-the-art sports venue in Mina Rashid is now open to all levels of athletes.

The 48,438 sq ft facility will offer a host of different fitness programmes including personal training sessions, group fitness classes, sports medicine and nutrition, athletic development programmes for young athletes as well as those for professional athletes.

The fitness centre is run by top trainers, and welcomes everyone.

Membership prices to the fitness centre start at Dhs900 per month, including a membership for couples, families, students and elite athletes.

“The health and wellbeing of our people is key to enabling national growth ambitions and we’re proud to partake in activities that support the UAE’s vision”, said Group Planning Senior Vice President Adnan Al Abbar.

This is MJP’s first physical presence outside of the United States since its establishment in 2007.
