Tough Mudder returns to the UAE, “bigger and better than ever”

Think you have what it takes to stick out it out through the biggest, baddest and definitely messiest obstacle course in the UAE? It's time to take on Tough Mudder.

For the first time ever, the Tough Mudder is coming to Mina al Arab in Ras Al Khaimah, and this time it’s bringing in brand-new obstacles for more mud-soaked mayhem.

Kicking off on Friday March 1, runners can take their pick from four different course routes, includ-ing the “Tough Mudder 5k” for Dhs350, which includes 13 different obstacles on a 5km route.

There’s also the “Tough Mudder Classic”, which will challenge participants to go through over 25 ob-stacles on a 10km route priced at Dhs400, along with the “Mini Mudder” for Dhs150, a 1.6km course route for seven to 13-year-olds.

If personal accomplishment, teamwork and fun aren’t enough and you’re looking to compete for prizes, the brand-new timed course will take runners through the “Classic” route, with prizes offered to those with the fastest times.

The world-renowned obstacle course challenge this year will be bringing back signature obstacles including the Pyramid, Mud Mile and gruelling Everest 2.0. But it’s also got some new tricks up its sleeves.

Some new additions include the “Black Widow”, a series of elevated tightropes suspended over water to climb through, and the “Leap of Faith”, a huge water-filled gap to swing across vie rope. Needless to say, don’t let go.

Early bird tickets are now available, and you can get them now over at

“Over the past few years, Ras Al Khaimah has proven to be an ideal destination for hosting sports and outdoor events”, said CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Haitham Mattar.

“The Tough Mudder event features a wide range of exciting new challenges, and we are confident that it will provide an unforgettable experience to sports and adventure enthusiasts visiting Ras Al Khaimah.”

The Tough Mudder is all about physical strength, teamwork and having the excuse to muck around in the mud. So clean off those trainer (and prepare to get them muddy again) and get yourself signed up.
