The best five golf courses in Dubai

We’re lucky to have some of the lushest, greenest grass in the region and, that only results in some of the world’s finest golf courses.

So, here are five of Dubai’s premier places to perfect your shot, unleash your Tiger and soak in summer glorious March sunshine.

All before the summer sweat-fest commences.

Arabian Ranches Golf Club
A middle-range desert course with yardage of 6,531, par 72. Also boasts a floodlit driving range and putting green and 11 guest rooms are available at the club. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
This award-winning course is one of the most scenic 18-hole Championship and Par 3 courses in Dubai and its location in the middle of the city makes it very accessible. It boasts a state-of-the-art academy and excellent 19th holes, including Boardwalk and QD’s.
Green fees: from Dhs760 (18 holes), Dhs460 (nine holes). Rates include green fees, golf cart hire and range balls. Deira (04 295 6000).

Emirates Golf Club
This club boasts two courses. The Majlis is one of the top 100 courses in the world, while the Faldo has floodlighting for night golf. There is also a Par 3 Academy Course. Why not dine at the tremendous carine afterwards, which scooped Best European at our restaurants awards last month?
Majlis Course green fees: from Dhs905 (18 holes), Dhs550 (nine holes). Faldo Course green fees: From 675 (18 holes), Dhs410 (nine holes). Emirates Hills, Sheikh Zayed Road, (04 380 1234).

The Address Montgomerie Dubai
This course has 123 acres of playable turf in a 265-acre environment. The 18th on the Championship course is a notorious 656-yard Par 5 monster. The Montgomerie is unique in that pay and play prices fluctuate depending on demand.

The Els Club
Backed by South African legend Ernie Els, this club boasts a course of a whopping 7,538 yards. It is made up of four sets of tees, giving players of all skill levels a fair test. The two nines loop around the villas of Victory Heights in the luxury development. The Big Easy? Maybe not so…
