Massive fights announced for Abu Dhabi UFC Fight Island events

UFC recently announced the return to Abu Dhabi for four events for Fight Island.

Speculation had been rife for weeks about the location of Fight Island and Dana White revealed that Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island would host the events.

International fighters from across the world will be coming to the city to fight across four nights in July starting with UFC 251 on July 11 and three UFC Fight Nights on July 15, 18 and 25.

The events, although closed to spectators, will be streamed across the world and available of the UFC Arabia platform in the UAE.

Now details for the main cards in Abu Dhabi have been announced by the UFC.

UFC 251 will feature a host of title fights including the main event, a Welterweight title fight between champion Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns.

There willl also be a rematch of the Featherweight title match between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski and a Bantamweight title fight between Petr Jan and Jose Aldo.

Other fights on the night include bouts between Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas and Amanda Ribas and Paige Vanzant.

Fights for the three UFC Fights Nights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks and there is much more UFC coming to the UAE in the next few years.

The first event, UFC 242, saw Khabib Nurmagomedov defeat Dustin Poirier to retain the lightweight championship in September 2019.
