Free two-day Yogafest Dubai is back

For once, when we tell you to dig out those stretchy pants it’s not going to come with a side order of guilt – Yogafest Dubai is back.

So, drag on your lycra leggings, grab your enthusiasm and attend of the city’s biggest wellness festival next month.

More than 5,000 yoga buffs are expected to join the 100 percent free classes in the seventh fest – which takes place at the Dubai Internet City Amphitheatre between Thursday, November 15 and Saturday, November 17.

Highlights include classes in yoga to pilates, dance, qi gong and meditation while you can also participate in talks and workshops on healthy living, family nutrition and yoga philosophy.

This year, a new Shakti Tent arrives and will be dedicated solely for women-only classes as well as the Al Jalila Foundation Tent for people of determination.

Families can also enjoy the festival in the dedicated Family Tent, with kids’ yoga classes as well as prenatal yoga, mother and daughter yoga, family yoga, and partner yoga among others.

Organiser Elaine Kelly said, “We are so excited to bring back the region’s most-loved wellness festival. This year we will be offering more than 150 classes and workshops by local and international teachers, as well as vendors and partners showcasing the best of what Dubai has to offer from studios to retail and more.”

This year 100 percent of donations received by attendees will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation to support the Ta’alouf, which will provide parents with six weeks of intensive training to help them better support their children with learning disabilities.

Hajar Ali, the foundation’s director of strategy and programs, added, “Al Jalila Foundation is delighted to be the charity beneficiary for Yogafest Dubai and the wonderful opportunity that the event provides to showcase our Ta’alouf programme to the yoga community.

“Since 2013, with the generous support of our partners and donors, we have been able to provide our flagship programme to more than 580 parents and seen the positive impact that it has had on their children of determination, their families and their communities.

“Events have the power to amplify our message and we are immensely grateful to be part of the 2018 edition of Yogafest.”

The festival (which is also dog-friendly) runs for two full days from Thursday evening to Saturday evening. The two-day ticket allows you to access any class in seven tents.

Spaces are on a first come first seated basis. Healthy food is available to purchase in the food court.
