Spa treatments allowed to resume in Dubai

Massage services, spa, in-hotel facilities, inside malls and grade A&B list of spas, salons and barbershops outside malls may resume from Saturday July 4.

However, steam rooms, saunas, inhalation rooms, ice rooms, Jacuzzis, hot bath / Moroccan bath / Turkish hammams must remain shut.
The facilities must be properly sanitised. According to new regulations the treatment room and its equipment such as stones, wheel roller massage stick and more must be cleaned and disinfected after each use and between clients, while the face cradle must be disinfected after each client, while the face cradle covering must be changed after each use.

Magazines, product samples and testers are not allowed, while linens including towels, blankets and pillows, bedsheets must be changed between clients, and washed and sanitised as per government guidelines.

There must also be a “hygiene champion” to supervise the continuous cleaning.

Appointments must be well spaced out, while showering facilities must be properly cleaned after each use or minimum once an hour. Social distancing must be in place and each locker should contain individually wrapped amenity kits. Shared amenity kits in the changing area must be removed and only provided to clients upon request. Disposable wood sticks should be used while applying creams and scrubs.

Everyone must be temperature screened and staff are encouraged to wear disposable gloves.
