Following an eventful Race to Dubai season, the Dubai World Championship finally arrives, with Greg Norman’s Earth course hosting some of the biggest names in golf (including Rory McIlroy, pictured) as they battle it out for the cup and cash prize. Get up early and go kayaking

Thoroughbred racing at Meydan
Racing season continues at Meydan, home of the Dubai World Cup. This race meet sees local and regional jockeys compete in six races to prove their worth for the World Cup Carnival, which begins in January.

Climb aboard a weekend dhow trip around the coast of Musandam

Take an IYT Personal Watercraft Master course

Winter fly-fishing with Martin James
