Midweek special rates at Dubai Creek Golf Club
The 18-hole championship course at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is offering special rates for UAE residents and EGF members during the week (Sunday to Thursday), allowing players to take advantage of the mild weather for less. Rounds can be booked up to seven days in advance, and the price includes cart hire and range balls.

Sign up for the Desert Adventure Challenge 2012
Register in teams of two or three to complete 18km or 37km on a moonlit night (together, not in relay format) on Thursday May 10. It’s a social event, so spectators are welcome to come along for support, and to camp.

Take a cruise for less with Xclusive Yachts

BloKarting in Nad Al Sheba
Try your hand at one of the quirkiest sports in Dubai: a combination of karting and windsurfing.

Dubai Fighting Championship
International and local fighters battle it out in this mixed martial arts event. Former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco ‘Suave’ Rodriguez will go head to head with the UK’s Stav ‘Crazy Bear’ Economou. Also up is local UAE favourite Malik ‘Smiler’ Omarov. Visit the website for the full programme.

Join the Dubai Diggers and try your hand at dragon boating
The Diggers meet three times a week for practice, and always welcome new members. Phone the team in advance, and they will make sure you get access to the hotel’s beach to join them. Sessions are also held every Mon and Wed, 6am-7am.

Night diving in Dibba
Easy Divers Emirates offers a wide range of different diving services. If you already have your PADI dive certification, join the group for a night dive off the Omani coast.

The Els Club Mixed Open
This 18-hole foursomes event is opened to mixed pairs, but all entrants must hold a valid handicap certificate, which is to be produced at registration. Entry price includes a post-game buffet, prizes and tournament giveaways.

Etisalat Pro League football
There’s plenty of football action tonight in the run-up to the finals. In Dubai tonight, Al Shabab play Ajman at home; and Al Wasl take on Al Wahda at home.

Skins Super Run Series Race 5
Take part in either the 4km or 8km version of this race for all ages.

Try a traditional pearl diving experience with Jumeirah
Step on board a traditional dhow and try your hand at pearl diving the old-fashioned way, at depths of three to five metres. Find a pearl and you can keep it (although they’re not usually worth more than Dhs100). The trip also includes a typical Emirati fish and rice lunch, as well as singing and story-telling. Weather permitting.

Men’s competitive football league
Both individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up for one of Duplays’ more competitive football offerings, with the Premier 7s II league. Also on Tuesdays.

Indoor volleyball

Law Firm Cup
