Cricket league

Men’s basketball
A fast-paced recreational league where teams play a match every week. If you don’t have a team, sign up as an individual and you’ll be placed in one. There are also competitive sessions on Mondays.

Midweek special rates at Dubai Creek Golf Club
The 18-hole championship course at Dubai Creek Golf Club is offering special rates for UAE residents and Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) members from Sunday to Thursday throughout May, allowing players to take advantage of the mild weather for less before summer kicks in. Rounds can be booked up to seven days in advance, and the price includes cart hire and range balls.

BloKarting in Nad Al Sheba
Try your hand at one of the quirkiest sports in Dubai: a combination of karting and windsurfing.

AFC Futsal Championships
The UAE hosts 15 teams to fight out the Futsal Championship 2012, with Iran expected to put up a good fight following several previous triumphs. Revolution Cycles Criterium Dubai Autodrome
Two criteriums in one day. The A Group race is open to experienced racing cyclists and B Group is for regular weekend riders looking to get into racing.

Dubai Desert Road Run June Summer Scorcher
Are you completely mad about fitness? If yes, this summer run is probably for you. Taking place on Saturday June 23, sign-up is now open for this 10km race, which takes place on the private roads around The Sevens Stadium.

Night diving in Dibba
Easy Divers Emirates offers a wide range of different diving services, as well as boat hire options. If you already have your PADI dive certification, join the group for a night dive off the Omani coast.

Al Gaffal 60ft traditional dhow sailing race
Watch the last race in the watersports season at Dubai International Marine Club, in the shape of this long-distance traditional 60ft contest.

Enjoy a traditional pearl diving experience with Jumeirah
Step on board a traditional dhow and try your hand at pearl diving the old-fashioned way, at depths of three to five metres. If you’re lucky enough to find a pearl, you can keep it (although they’re not usually worth more than Dhs100). The trip also includes a typical Emirati fish and rice lunch, as well as singing and story-telling. Weather permitting.

Try Jebel Ali’s new watersports centre

Beat-the-heat golf rates at The Montgomerie
Weekday rates go down as the mercury goes up at this golf course, with great May rates, and even lower ones from June until the end of September.
