Dennis Wise

Played for: Wimbledon, Grebbestads IF, Chelsea, Leicester City, Millwall, Southampton, Coventry City
Position: Midfielder
Nationality: English
International caps: 21

Favourites to win?
My favourites are Holland and Germany.

Any dark horses?
I think England will be the dark horses.

Any players to keep our eyes on, and who’ll be top scorer?
Gomez for Germany or Huntelaar for Holland.

How do you think England will fare?
I think England have a good chance and Roy Hodgson is a very well organised and tactical manager.

Go on, pick a winner…
Germany or England.

Ian Taylor

Played for: Port Vale, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Derby County, Northampton Town
Position: Midfielder
Nationality: English

Favourites to win?
My favourites are, as usual, Spain. They are still a force to be reckoned with, but Germany will obviously be breathing down their necks.

Any dark horses?
For me, it would be Italy. They are definitely sleeping giants.

Any players to keep our eyes on, and who’ll be top scorer?
Ones to watch will be Van Persie of Holland, Müller and Marin of Germany and also Mario Götze – another young German. Top scorer for me could be Mario
Gomez of Germany.

How do you think England will fare?
I do think that, without Wayne Rooney for the first two matches, England will struggle to be a creative force. But with Roy Hodgson's organisational skills, he will make them hard to beat. Can’t see past the quarter-finals though.

Go on, pick a winner…
I would still say Spain.

Steve Staunton

Played for: Dundalk, Liverpool, Bradford City, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Coventry City, Walsall
Position: Defender
Nationality: Irish
International caps: 102

Favourites to win?
Spain or Germany.

Any dark horses?
France, Holland and England.

Who’ll be top scorer?
I'd say top scorer will be Germany's Gomez or the Netherlands' Van Persie.

How do you think England will fare?
England will be well organised and hard to beat. Roy Hodgson will want to play with two strikers – one in the withdrawn role – and I look forward to the partnership of Welbeck and Rooney (once he’s available from suspension).

Go on, pick a winner…
Germany.

Alan Mcloughlin

Played for: Man United, Swindon Town, Torquay United, Southampton, Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Wigan Athletic, Rochdale, Forest Green Rovers
Position: Midfielder
Nationality: Irish
International caps: 42

Favourites to win?
I'd go for Germany.

Any dark horses?
I think France might surprise us.

Any players to keep our eyes on, and who’ll be top scorer?
The player to watch will be Mesut Özil of Germany, while top scorers could be Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal or Arjen Robben of Holland.

How do you think England will fare?
With Roy Hodgson as the new manager, I think he will get a good response from the England team and I anticipate England to reach at least the semi-finals, but they face a tough task. They should get through the first phase, but the acid test will be playing either Italy or Spain, who England will play in the first knockout stage.

Go on, pick a winner…
Germany
