Feeling brave? A new extreme sports centre has opened in Al Quoz, offering bungee jumping and a catapult. It will soon be adding a zipwire and abseiling to its portfolio.

Auto Trader Live Luxury Car Show
This three-day show will feature 300 of the world’s most luxurious cars, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Rolls Royces, Bentleys and more.

Dubai Camel Racing Festival
This 12-day local festival sees thousands of highly trained camels of different ages and breeds from across the region come together to compete and win big prizes.

Al Marsa’s weekend getaway offers
Al Marsa is running three special diving packages every weekend. The first is a discover scuba-diving trip (DSD), the second an open-water diving course (eLearning OWC) and the third an advanced open-water course that includes five adventure dives and a certification upon completion (AOW). The Lord’s Taverners Golf Day
Cricketing legends take over the Montgomerie golf course today, giving attendees and participants the chance to mingle. The day includes a barbecue steak dinner and awards hosted by British TV presenter Chris Tarrant, in support of Al Noor Centre for Special Needs. Desert hike
Explore small oasis plantations, camel farms and trek across sand dunes. Thanks to the cooler weather, this is a pleasant walk rather than an intense challenge.

Dubai Bikes
Part of the Dubai Pulse programme, this community event aims to get the city’s bicycle owners peddling on the streets, keeping fit while also socialising with their neighbours.

Dubai Polo Gold Cup 2013
The Gold Cup features six UAE polo teams, each starring professional international players. There will be matches during the week and at weekends, with final fixtures announced on the event’s website. Pack a picnic for a great day out.

The Lord Taverner’s v Emirates XI
The annual charity cricket match returns, starring legends of the sport. It’s a great family day out, with spectators encouraged to bring picnic baskets. There will also be free coaching for kids aged six to 12 (you’ll need to register in advance), plus a gala dinner in the evening.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships: men’s final
