Revolution Nights
Every Wednesday, Dubai’s Revolution Cycles heads out onto the Dubai Autodrome Club Circuit under the floodlights for an evening of cycling, jogging, rollerblading and walking. Those who want to take on the 2.46km track by bike or blades, however, must wear a helmet.

Al Ghaffal Traditional 60ft Dhow Race 2013
Traditional sailing dhows take to the seas in the return of this annual race, which commemorates the pearl divers who played a big part in Dubai’s early trading history. Around 100 boats take part, with approximately 3,000 participants. The race begins at the island of Sir Bu Nair, located 65 kilometres off the coast of Sharjah, and finishes at Mina Seyahi.

Play Ultimate Frisbee
Organised by DUPA (Dubai Ultimate Players Association), there’s a recreational pickup game played every Saturday afternoon on the beach in JBR, playing five on five. It goes on until sunset, and sometimes beyond with illuminated discs. Most weekends, games end with a swim or a few cold drinks at Wavebreaker.
