Camel Racing
The camel racing season is in full swing, so be sure to catch this traditional Emirati activity. Free. Morning races start at 7am-9am, afternoon races start at 2.30pm-4.30pm.

Try the ‘ultimate’ circuit

8th Dubai International Sports Conference
This annual two-day event sees sports industry professionals and coordinators come together to discuss the future of sports in the region. Gold’s Gym Club
Gold’s is opening its ninth gym in the UAE and this fitness centre will be located in Al Nahda.

Ball Hockey
Come and play hockey as the Mighty Ducks Mixed league is looking for new players to join its indoor hockey teams, and play in the league. Standard plastic indoor hockey sticks and goalkeeping equipment is provided, if you don’t have your own.

Watch the New Year’s Eve Fireworks
See 2014 in with a bang as Dubai attempts to break yet another world record by having the largest fireworks display in the world. The display will be spread over 99km of beachfront on The Palm.

Fairmont The Palm running club
This running club has no membership fees and is open to all, regardless of ability. There are three runs a week on Saturday (8.30am), Monday (6.30pm) and Wednesday (6.30pm). All participants get a free T-shirt, massage, smoothie and more when they complete ten runs.

Meydan Races

Cycle Safe Dubai
This group holds regular rides for beginners. The events are organised with a core team of professional cyclists and riders can choose the group, pace and distance they want to join.
