GIANT TransHajar MTB Race 2014
This four-day mountain bike race starting Wednesday February 5 offers a tough and challenging ride through Oman’s rather picturesque but challenging countryside.

Wadi Bih Run 2014
This relay run is open to teams of five (with a mandatory one female) and covers 72km and an altitude up to 1,000m.

Dubai Roadsters Coast to Coast Challenge
The Spring 2014 challenge sees the city’s cycling enthusiasts tackle the 216km route from Dubai to Fujairah’s Le Méridien Al Aqah hotel. Though it’s open to all cyclists, you must have the required fitness levels and be familiar with cycling in a group in order to take part.

Tour Dubike Cycling Festival 2014
Designed to cater for cyclists of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, there are distances of 161km, 100km and 50km, plus an 11km challenge circuit (for those building up to do as many loops as they can manage), along with a 2km and 5km kids’ event.

Wild Wadi’s Swim Burj Al Arab 2014
One of Time Out Dubai’s favourite annual sporting events, the 800m swim around the Burj Al Arab is held in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières. This year, a 1,600m swim has been added to the challenge.
