What sparked your interest in living a healthier lifestyle and what were your first steps to achieving this goal?
I was obese. My family struggle with weight and diabetes, so I grew up with health issues, which came from eating the wrong foods and certain lifestyle choices. When I started to change my life I just wanted to help others going through the same thing.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to take that first step?
Simply make a decision. Set a goal, have an action plan and work consistently to it. You’ll struggle at times, but if you stop, just start again and always focus on what you want to achieve.
What’s your fitness philosophy?
Enjoy the journey, because the way is the goal. For me, fitness is 70 percent nutrition, 20 percent exercise and 10 percent recovery. It’s a constant commitment to becoming better every day.
What benefits can people expect to see or feel from working out with you?
I practise Electrical Muscle Stimulation workouts, which stimulate all muscles groups individually and at the same time. The training session is only 30 minutes, but the workout is 18 times more intense than a conventional training session.
What song is an absolute must on your workout playlist?
Shot Me Down by David Guetta and Skylar Grey, that really gets me going.
What do you treat yourself to on “Cheat Day”?
I think it’s good now and then to eat whatever you like. It’s even proven that it will boost your metabolism. I eat whatever I like to eat and I very rarely crave anything, but I can’t resist chocolate or pizza.
