What sparked your interest in living a healthier lifestyle and what were your first steps to achieving this goal?
Having suffered many injuries throughout my basketball career, I’ve set my mind to exploring the biomechanics of the human body. Understanding how the body is meant to move has allowed me to live a better and healthier life.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to take that first step?
Start becoming aware of your movements, from the way you get out of bed to the way you walk up the stairs. This awareness will lead to an understanding and control over your body.
What’s your fitness philosophy?
Every capable body should be allowed to move efficiently and pain free. Awareness of your body is key.
Tell us about your class?
Every session is dictated by the client and their ability to perform the movements. I have spent an entire session solely teaching a client how to properly engage their core. Many movements need to be learned and controlled before moving onto more complex training.
What benefits can people expect from working out with you?
A sedentary lifestyle can lead our brain to muscle connections to become dormant and muscles lose their elasticity. Taking the time to reactivate and engage these muscles will lead to a better way of moving.
How do you treat yourself your “Cheat Day”?
One word: pancakes.
