Cristiano Ronaldo is considered the best footballer in the world at the moment, and if you were hooping the Real Madrid player my consider a move closer to Dubai one day, prepare to be disappointed.
The 30-year-old soccer star has quashed dreams of those residing in the UAE by admitted that it’s highly unlikely he’ll make a move to a club here at any point in his sporting career.
Portuguese Cristiano spoke out on the Jonathan Ross Show in the UK. When asked whether he’d do a David Beckham or Steven Gerrard and play for LA Galaxy or elsewhere, he confessed that moving on to a team outside of Europe may not be best for his legendary status.
“In my mind I want to finish in the top level. I want to finish with dignity a good club,” he said. “Not to say going to UAE, Qatar and Dubai is not good but I don’t see myself…”
His speech on his future in football began when asked what British teams he likes to watch.
“I’m a supporter of Manchester United. As I say many times I’ve very comfortable with Real Madrid now, I feel happy,” Cristiano shared.
“As people know I love Manchester United it’s a good club. Future… nobody knows. I feel good and happy in Real Madrid.”
Cristiano is no stranger to the emirate. In 2013 it was revealed he leased 12 apartments in Discovery Gardens. In 2014 he spent the Christmas period in Dubai for a much-needed holiday.
