The world's best footballer will be in town later this month when Lionel Messi attends the Dubai International Sports Conference.
Held at Madinat Jumeirah on December 27 and 28, the 10th installment of the beautiful game's leading industry event, will be themed around the Challenges And Achievements facing the sport after a tumultuous 2015.
Numerous stars of the past and present will be in attendance, but the stand-out name is without doubt Barcelona forward Messi.
The 28-year-old will be the guest of honour at the sixth edition of the Globe Soccer Awards on the first night of the conference. Organisers have, however, said the star will not address the conference or gala.
Current players Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo (both New York City) and Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) will also be in attendance. Joining the players will be Italian football bigwigs, Michele Uva and Umberto Gandini, Director at AC Milan, as well as Dubai resident and former Al Wasl boss Diego Maradona, 2007 African Footballer of the Year, Frederic Kanoute. Iconic referee Pierluigi Collina, former Italy, England and Russia manager Fabio Capello, Dutchman Marc Wilmots, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and current Azzurri boss Antonio Conte will also speak.
Previous attendees include Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez of Real Madrid, Xavi Hernandez and Pep Guardiola, both formerly of Barcelona.
