XDubai may have come synonymous with adrenaline, extreme sports and pretty much anything you’re not brave enough to do yourself.
But now the company that has supported JetMan, Spartan Race, Dream Jump and the Downtown Dubai zipline have turned their hand to something altogether more laid back. Introducing XYoga Dubai.
That’s right, in February, XDubai, along with Dubai Tourism, will host the emirate’s largest all-inclusive yoga initiative across the weekend of February 19 and 20. The two-day event will take over Burj Park and is designed to capitalise on the enormous interest in the holistic fitness craze, as well as ‘help encourage people to defy their bodily limits and mental boundaries’. Around 10,000 people are expected to attend.
The festival will feature a series of free yoga sessions throughout the day, including sunrise and sunset, as well as workshops and talks by regional and international experts. Other holistic and well-being initiatives will be represented, such as healthy eating seminars and meditation. There will also be live music and other forms of entertainment.
Organisers have been keen to stress the festival is for all ages and abilities, rather than just for those who already practice the numerous forms of the discipline, such as Vinyasa, Acro and Ashtanga.
‘XYoga Dubai highlights the inclusivity Dubai promotes as we welcome everyone from athletes, professional instructors, experienced and beginner yogis, parents and children to come down and enjoy the celebrations and will be a permanent part of our annual calendar,’ DTCM said in a statement.
XDubai’s marketing director Javad Khoramifar, added: ‘Yoga is part of every athletes’ life, especially those who are into action sports, which is and remains a core focus for XDubai. As a sport, yoga is a culture, a life choice and a challenge.’
