In case you didn’t know already, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has a true passion for horse racing.
He is the founder of the Maktoum family-owned Godolphin stable and also the owner of Darley, a thoroughbred breeding operation which works across six countries.
It’s therefore no coincidence that he was an honorary guest at Day Three of this year’s Royal Ascot in Britain.
As you can see from the photos below, HH Sheikh Mohammed was welcomed to the Royal Box by Queen Elizabeth II to watch the day’s races alongside all the other attending members of the British Royal Family.
These included Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Prince of Wales, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
The Ruler of Dubai was accompanied by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and former president of the International Equestrian Federation, HRH Princess Haya bint al Hussein.
HH Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin enjoyed three wins with his three thoroughbreds Ribchester, Usherette and Portage.
Here he is seen receiving the cup from Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Back in 2013, HH Sheikh Mohammed also met Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of Edinburgh and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall after another triumphant day at the prestigious race course in Berkshire, as seen below.
In fact, HH Sheikh Mohammed has been a regular at the iconic horse racing event for quite some time now. The photo below dates back to 1987, showcasing his lifelong passion for the sport.
