UAE sports car to take on Le Mans

Jannarelly Design-1 has been freighted to France as UAE enters new market

The first-ever sports car to be both designed and built in the UAE has been sent over to France to participate in the Le Mans 24-hour race.

Jannarelly Automotive designed the thoroughly beautiful car, which has taken on design elements and inspirations from sports cars of the 1960s. The Jannarelly Design-1 will be taking part in the world-famous endurance race in France, to which it was flown by Emirates SkyCargo.

Jannarelly is the first car maker in the UAE to have acquired a car manufacturing licence, and its first offering is an absolute sight to behold.

The car is a lightweight, classic-yet-futuristic sports car constructed using high-tech composite materials. It is valued somewhere between US$70,000 (Dhs257,103) and US$90,000 (Dhs330,561), and it will be really interesting to see how the vehicle performs at Le Mans as the UAE takes a significant step forward onto the global stage in another new industry.
