World’s longest zip line to open in RAK

Record-breaking tourist attraction set to open at the UAE’s Jebel Jais

Thrill-seeking daredevils, rejoice, because a zip line of epic proportions is coming to the UAE. And it’s not just any zip line.

Ras Al Khaimah has announced the launch of the world’s longest zip line, as the emirate continues its push to become one of the world’s top travel destinations.

The UAE’s outdoors and adventure hub is set to open the new tourist attraction in December, adding to a growing list of attractions being developed around Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest point. The mountain is also in the development stages of a huge observation deck, which will feature viewing spots, picnic areas as well as a visitor’s centre and even food trucks.

The exact length of the zip line is being kept a closely guarded secret, but the multi-million dirham project will be certified by Guinness World Records after its opening, and is expected to take the crown from Puerto Rico’s Toro Verde Adventure Park, currently the world record holder, with a zip line measuring 2,530 metres in length.

It’s also expected the be the world’s highest zip line, sitting upon one of Jebel Jais’ tallest points, nearly 2,000 metres above sea level. The attraction will be able to accommodate up to 350 people per day, and up to 120,000 per year when it opens, with two parallel wires allowing families and couples to experience the ride together.

If you’re heading over to Ras Al Khaimah anytime soon, you might also want to take advantage of this brilliant luxury staycation offer at the Waldorf Astoria, or a bargain Dhs160 daycation bundle featuring all-day pool access and unlimited drinks at Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort.

We can’t wait to get in the queue for the zip line’s opening day, which promises some of the views Ras Al Khaimah has to offer.
