Swing Against Cancer golf day takes place September 14 in Dubai

Emirates Golf Club will host the tournament to raise funds for cancer charity

Avid golfers, get your clubs ready to take part in a tournament for a good course that could see you star as part of a prestigious world golf tour.

The next meeting in the Swing Against Cancer Golf Series 2017, organised by Sixteen10 and Worldwide Golf, will be the DSA Open which takes place at Emirates Golf Club on Thursday September 14, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to win, and to raise funds for a good cause, sign up to take part now.

The event, which occurs annually, was set up to raise money for the charity Friends of Cancer Patients and Pink Caravan. This next competition in the series will be held on The Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club, and winners will progress into the grand finale, the Mike Clark Golf Day, on Thursday October 26.

This prestigious event will take place on the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates and will feature celebrity guests including Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall, 2005 US Open Golf Champion Michael Campbell, plus one more guest still to be announced.

Amateurs who win at the Mark Clark Golf Day will receive the grand prize comprising a spot on the DP World Tour Championship Pro-Am event, hospitality and a stay at a five-star hotel. Professionals will be competing for the chance to win Dhs5,000, plus a golf break.

The competition on Thursday September 14 at Emirates Golf Club will start at 1pm, with a gala celebration to announce the winners taking place from 7pm. There will be a barbecue dinner with drinks, and prizes will be given away.

There will also be an extra special Q&A session with footballing legend Gary McAllister, whose first wife sadly passed away from breast cancer, which is one of the reasons why he has chosen to support the Swing Against Cancer Golf Series.
