If you haven’t secured a place to play in the amateur golf competition at the Swing Against Cancer Golf Series, organised by Sixteen10 and Worldwide Golf, which takes place on Thursday October 26 at Jumeirah Golf Estates, then this piece of news is for you.
To raise money for the Friends of Cancer Patients charity, the 16th and final spot in the amateur competition is being auctioned from now until noon on Thursday October 19.
Legendary footballer and manager Harry Redknapp, England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall, ex-New Zealand golf pro and winner of the 2005 US Open Michael Campbell, and singer-songwriter and former Westlife star Brian McFadden, will all be attending. They’ll be putting their skills to the test before taking part in a Q&A with the audience at a gala dinner in the evening.
Your bid will give you the chance to play golf and/or dine with Harry Redknapp, Mike Tindall, Brian McFadden and Michael Campbell, as well as play against other qualified amateurs. Just head to www.swingagainstcancerauction.com to place your bid.
Fifteen golfers have already qualified for the amateur event. The winner will tee-off alongside the likes of Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Matt Fitzpatrick in the Rolex Pro-Am for the DP World Tour Championship and take home hospitality tickets to the tournament, an invitation to the players’ beach party, a two-night stay at Atlantis The Palm and a golf lesson with renowned coach to the stars Pete Cowen.
There will also be plenty of entertainment on the night, including a raffle and prize auction, with such gifts as a golfing holiday and stay at Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa in Mauritius, box and concert tickets for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and a week’s health retreat at the Fonteverde Spa in Tuscany, all up for grabs.
So it will be a great day out whether you’re playing on not. Get involved.
