Dubai Pulse 2018: Off-road bike ride returns to Sports City

More than 1,000 riders are expected to take part in the mass cycle

Sports & Outdoor

It’s time to dig out the lycra (and prepare for saddle sores) for the return of the Dubai Pulse community bike ride.

The off-road cycling event is returning to Dubai Sports City on Friday March 16 and has routes for all abilities with 5km, 10km and 20km challenges.

Each route will be a safe, off-road and traffic-free ride with a full support team on hand to manage the event though how far you push yourself is entirely up to you.

We told you recently about the 5k NAD Night Challenge, and The Great Dubai Pulse Ride promises to be just as momentous, with hundreds of families, first-time cyclists and professionals saddling up to take part.

The event has been held twice per year since 2013 and it is expected that more than 1,000 people will turn out for this 11th edition.

The cycle is free and registration starts at Dubai Sports City’s Sports Village from 7am with the main event commencing at 8am at Sports Park, Dubai Sports City.

And if you’re not much of a cyclist, there’s plenty of other fun to be had, including bouncy castles, kid’s activities and plenty of food and drink.

The event is a collaboration between Dubai Sports City President, Khalid Al Zaroono and Dubai Sports Council and showcases the benefits of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

Free. Friday 16 March, 7am (ride registration), 8am (event starts). Sports Park, Dubai Sports City, www.thecyclehub.com.
