Take on a famous footballer in this fitness challenge

Head to Fairmont The Palm this weekend to test your speed

You might appreciate that retired pro-footballer Nicolas Anelka has some speed in his feet, but do you think you can take him on? Well now is your chance.

The former France forward, who now lives in Dubai, has set a record at Fairmont The Palm at the hotel’s PRAMA state-of-the-art studio session where he trains with celebrity trainer, Coach Meddy.

Anelka can hit more than 350 steps in 30 seconds on the fast feet setting within the studio and now Coach Meddy and Fairmont The Palm have launched the #ANELKACHALLENGE to record your own step count in 30 seconds on Thursday (April 12).

The top three scorers with the fastest feet will be in with the chance to win some amazing prizes, including a two night stay within the hotels presidential suite, fitness classes, spa treatments and more.

The competition will kick off on 9am in the PRAMA studio at the Fairmont The Palm health club where breakfast bites and refreshments will be served. There is bound to be some fierce competition so we suggest entrants start limbering up.

If you want to try something new while raising your fitness, head down to Arabian Ranches and try your hand (or foot) at a round of footgolf for just Dhs85 for adults, Dhs50 for under 18s and free for kids under the age of 12.
Free. Thu Apr 12, 9am. Fairmont The Palm, Palm Jumeirah (04 457 3388).
