Waiting to see your favourite cricket team make it all the way to the finals of the Indian Premier League (IPL)? You’ll need to find the right place to watch those matches, and Dubai Sports City has the perfect venue.
The ICC Academy is hosting Cricket Fan Park, a jam-packed festival filled with giant screens to watch all the action, as well as Asian food stalls and a play area for the kids.
Doors open today (Tuesday May 15), and will be kicking off with live coverage of the Kolkata Knight Riders taking on the Rajasthan Royals.
Every IPL match between May 15-27 will be shown at the venue, including the playoffs, qualifiers and, of course, the grand final. All the essential games in one convenient location.
Cricket Fan Park will open an hour before the start of each match – so that’s 1.30pm for double header games and 5.30pm regular matches.
The indoor centre can hold up to 700 people, and will be decorated with the colourful flags of the IPL’s eight teams as well as a host of cricket themed activities.
You can also expect plenty of Indian snacks and food stalls selling great food during the games, including a traditional chaat station. Yes please.
Regular priced tickets (Dhs50) will include a Dhs30 food and beverage voucher, while VIP tickets (Dhs100) will get you a Dhs60 on the snacks of your choice.
The professional Twenty20 cricket league is now in its 11th season, and has grown in size and popularity each year since it started back in 2008.
It’s also one of the most attended cricket leagues in the world, so you can expect plenty of cheering followers.
Interested? We know we are. Tickets will be available outside the ICC Academy. We’ll see you there, cricket fans.
More of a footie fanatic? The same idea is being done for the World Cup, as Atlantis The Palm recently announced it will be setting up an epic World Cup Fan Zone.
