Dubai Desert Run back next month

There will be 10km and 3km courses at the Dubai fun run

Sports & Outdoor

Fancy yourself as a bit of a Mo Farah or a Paula Radcliffe? Well shave off 20 miles and add some scorching desert heat and this is a challenge for you.

The Dubai Desert Road Run is back on Saturday June 16, kicking off at 6am around the traffic-free roads of The Sevens stadium.

That gives us 25 days to limber up and get back into our running tights in preparation to take on the 10km or 3km course.

The first three finishers will receive trophies and everyone else will get a medal for their efforts.

The first Desert Road Run was held in February 2012 and since then there have been several held each year.

It is open to runners of all abilities, from first time social runners to some of the best UAE-based athletes.

There will also be a raffle taking place on the day with spot prizes on offer for all participants.

The 10km run costs Dhs130 to enter, while the 3km run costs Dhs90. The race is free to watch for spectators.

If you fancy taking on something that challenges your mind as well as your body then the TEPfactor could be right up your street.
The new all-encompassing adventure experience is opening up at JBR on May 30, and it promises to push your mental and physical capabilities to the absolute limit.

TEPfactor is a series of gruelling tasks that take place in the depths of a concealed cave, where brave competitors will take on 21 adrenaline-spiking challenges.
Free (spectators), Dhs90 (3km), Dhs130 (10km). Sat June 16, 6am. The Village, The Sevens Stadium, E66 (Dubai-Al Ain Road), www.dubairunning.com.
