Dubai’s best swim-up bars, rooftop pools and pool day packages

Is there anything more relaxing than wallowing in a cool pool with an even cooler drink in hand? In Dubai in summer, we can’t think of many. So we’ve rounded up a list of the best swim-up bars in the city for you to cool off in.

SWIM-UP BARS
Anchor Pool Bar

This chilled-out pool bar overlooks the beach for lovely views of the Arabian Gulf. It’s picture-perfect, and even more so when you add a burger to the frame (of which the menu offers a nice selection). Insta-tastic.
Dhs150 (Sun-Thu), Dhs200 (Fri-Sat).Daily 9am-6.30pm. Jebel Ali Golf Resort, Jebel Ali (04 814 5555).

Areia
Take a seat at this swim-up bar and you’ll enjoy top views out to sea and across to Ain Dubai. Sip on a mixed drink, relax and even chomp on a foot-long hotdog if you get peckish. Sounds like a good day to us.
Dhs130 (Sun-Thu), Dhs210 (Fri-Sat with Dhs75 redeemable on food and drink), free (for ladies Tue-Wed). Open daily 11am-midnight. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel – Jumeirah, The Walk, opposite JBR (04 453 3333).

Azure Beach Club
Part of trendy hotel Rixos Premium Dubai, this, as the name suggests has beach access, but when the sand is scorchio that’s not what we’re after. What we’re looking for is a swim-up bar to sit and chill-out at. And happily there’s exactly that installed in the giant infinity pool at Azure.
Dhs300 (Sun-Thu, Dhs200 redeemable on food), Dhs400 (Fri-Sat, Dhs200 redeemable on food). Open daily 10am-11.30pm. Rixos Premium Dubai, JBR (052 777 9472).

Bab Al Shams
Head out to the desert this summer. No, we’re not insane, there’s an excellent swim-up bar at Bab Al Shams to cool you down. The swimming pools are an impressive piece of design, a maze of separate swimming areas that include an infinity pool, a more intimate and adult space and a central pool where water cascades down a square, overhead framework in the middle. The icing on the cake is the swim-up bar offering stunning, panoramic desert views.
